San Francisco

There are numerous activities to entertain both visitors and residents. As one of America’s most popular cities, San Francisco has a lot to offer in terms of recreation and leisure. The city boasts more than a dozen city parks, the most notable being Golden Gate Park. Established in the late nineteenth century, the park covers more than 1000 acres and contains many of the city’s landmarks, including the De Young Museum and the Conservatory of Flowers.

Music lovers will appreciate that the San Francisco Symphony, founded in 1911, is based in the city. It hosts dozens of spectacular events each year, including a full holiday schedule. Likewise, visitors can enjoy a day at the San Francisco zoo. It maintains a full-range of educational an conservation programmes and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The Exploratorium: The Museum of Science, Art and Human Perception, is also a popular place to visit. It is located within San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts and describes itself as being a ‘collage’ of science, art and human perception exhibits.

San Francisco is also known for its sporting activities. It hosts a large number of competitive events, for both the amateur and accomplished athlete, such as marathons, and a full season of triathlon and duathlon races.
